Originally built in 1911, Dennojo is a beautifully restored traditional minshuku in Nozawa Onsen, with a long history as a family-run guesthouse. Now reimagined by a Japanese–Australian couple, the property has been thoughtfully renovated to honour its heritage while offering modern comfort for today’s travellers.
Located in the heart of Nozawa Onsen village, Dennojo reflects the rhythms of daily life in this historic hot spring town. By living locally and becoming part of the community, we have gained a deep appreciation for Nozawa Onsen’s traditions, culture, and seasonal way of life—values that shape every stay at Dennojo.
Dennojo is more than accommodation; it is a place to truly live in Nozawa Onsen, even if only for a short time. We welcome guests from Japan and around the world who wish to experience the village not just as visitors, but as part of its everyday life.
